When you are applying for opening a bank account or for a loan from any financial institution or for a visa, etc., you may be asked to produce a copy of a bonafide certificate from your employer.

Bonafide certificate contains mainly the information regarding the employee viz. name, employee code, designation, department, salary, etc.
