Parent's Letter to Teacher about Child's Stressful Homework

Too much homework from school can put extraordinary pressure on some of the students, who are unable to handle such pressure. This may cause headache, stress, and depression in such students, which may lead to further physical ailments.

letter to teacher about too much homework
Parents should take cognizance of this situation and should take appropriate action to protect the health of their child.

Students requesting the teachers directly to give them less homework may go ignored. Hence, the parents will have to request the teachers in writing to assign less homework to the students, if the parents are strongly of the opinion that it will be beneficial for their child to improve his mental health.

Here is an example of a letter to the teacher about too much homework.

Dear Sir/Madam,

We are the parents of (Name of the Student), Class: ___, Roll No. ________. We have a request regarding the homework assignments to our child.

Lately, we have been noticing that (First Name of the Student) has been quite stressful because of his/her homework given by the teachers. We have tried to give him/her full support to help him/her in reducing this stress. However, it does not seem to be working that well for him/her.

Although he/she is a good student and enjoys studying, somehow he/she is stressed out thinking about completing his/her whole homework within the given time. It is affecting his/her mental health. We have also noticed that he/she is developing some physical symptoms because of this, viz. chest pains, minor insomnia, weak appetite, etc.

We have consulted with a therapist and it is advised that if we reduce his/her workload throughout a day, it will help him/her find time to relax himself/herself by spending a little more time with family and friends.

Hence, we request you to kindly assign him/her less homework than the usual. Please help us in helping him/her.

Thank you for your understanding!

Yours sincerely,
