Application Letter to Municipality for New Water Connection

A resident of a locality will have to make an application to the respective municipality/panchayat office for getting a new water connection in his premises.

Along with the application, some documents may have to be provided viz. the identity proof, address proof, proof of ownership of the land, etc.

Here is a sample of an application letter for applying for a new water supply connection. Please modify it appropriately in consultation with the respective government department.

I am hereby formally making an application for getting a water connection on my land premises. Kindly note the following details for this purpose.

I agree to abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the Municipality from time to time for the purpose of water connection.

I further understand and agree that:

i) I will bear all expenses for installing the new water connection.

ii) I will pay the water charges and other charges as levied by the Municipality from time to time.

iii) I will use the water for domestic purposes only. I understand that the Municipality will be at liberty to levy fine or disconnect my connection in case of use of water for purposes other than domestic use.

iv) I will not install any inline booster pump on the connecting pipe line.

I declare that I am the rightful owner of the premises for which the water supply connection is applied for and that I am residing in the said premises with my family.

I further solemnly declare and affirm that the information given herein-above is correct to the best of my knowledge and that if at any point of time any of the information is found to be incorrect; I will lose the right of water connection.
