Application Format to Become a Member of a Housing Society

An individual or a body corporate can become a member of a cooperative housing society only after making a written application for membership in the prescribed form.

The application has to be made to the Managing Committee of the society, who will either give in-principle approval if the applicant is eligible and satisfies all conditions, or they will reject it on genuine grounds. The membership application will then be put forth for approval of the members in the Annual General Body Meeting.

Each society may have their own application format for this purpose. Here is an example of an application letter for getting the membership of a society. Please modify it as necessary.
