Application Letter Format to the BDO for Sinking a Tubewell

A tube well is a type of water well in which long pipes are bored underground. It has a pump operated by hand to bring water up from under the ground.

In villages, where there is a drinking water scarcity, the government installs such tubewells in a common place where people can come and collect drinking water from the tubewells.

Here is an example of writing a simple application letter to the BDO of a Block requesting him/her for sinking a tubewell in your locality.

Respected Sir/Madam,

We are the residents of ______ village, ward no. ____ under ________ Block. We beg to state that we are facing a drinking water crisis these days, as the tubewell in our area is not working.

There are four tubewells in our village. Each one is allocated for each cardinal direction of our village. We are from the South side of the village. The tubewell here is not functioning anymore.

Hundreds of families who depend upon this tubewell are facing a drinking water crisis. Many of us have to walk one-two kilometers to collect drinking water from tubewells in other localities.

It has become very difficult for us to undergo this hardship during these scorching summer days. Hence, a tubewell is urgently needed in the south side of the _______ village.
