When a student wants to open a bank account, especially for some educational purposes, viz. receiving scholarship money, or getting an educational loan, then the bank authority may ask the student to get a certificate from the institute.
The student can request the dean or the principal of the educational institute to get such a written certificate with the details of the student viz. the name of the course, year, student registration number, residential address, etc.
Here is a sample of such a formal letter from the educational institute for opening a student bank account.
