Request Letter to Bank Manager for Correction of Name Spelling

Sometimes, while entering your name in the records of the bank during opening of your bank account, the bank official might unintentionally enter the name with some spelling mistakes in it.

When you notice the error, you should contact your bank immediately, and have it corrected as soon as possible to avoid any delay in functioning your account in any future transactions.

You can visit the branch office of the bank and ask for the procedure to do the correction. They may ask you for an application letter in this regard.

Here is a sample of such an application letter to the bank manager for correction of error in the name.

Today, while going through the bank passbook and cheque book, I noticed that my name has been erroneously entered in the records of the bank for my account. There is a minor spelling mistake, which needs to be corrected immediately.

I am enclosing herewith the self-attested copies of my Aadhar card and PAN card as an evidence of the correct name, which I had also mentioned in the application form for opening a savings account.
